Falls are common in people aged 65 years and older and are the leading cause of injury in this age group. People, even in their 90s, can improve their strength and balance to achieve stability and avoid falls. The Otago exercise program is a series of strength and balance exercises and a walking program. It is well researched and proven to reduce the risk of falls by 35-40%. This evidence based exercise program is designed to be carried out at home with exercises prescribed and progressed by a Physiotherapist. We come to your home and complete a thorough assessment of your strength and balance and provide you with your individual exercise program.
